Assessment Overview
SSSTS Course Assessment
The assessment at the end of the SSSTS course is designed to evaluate the delegates’ understanding and application of key safety principles. It consists of 25 questions, including multiple-choice and short written responses. Among these, four questions are safety critical, requiring detailed answers. Each question carries one point, with safety critical questions valued between 1 to 3 points. To pass, delegates must correctly answer all safety critical questions and achieve an overall score of at least 80%, equivalent to 24 out of 30 correct answers.
Delegates will be tested on their knowledge of legal responsibilities, risk management, and effective supervision techniques. The assessment ensures that participants are well-prepared to implement safety measures on-site. Successful completion of the assessment results in the awarding of the CITB SSSTS certificate, valid for five years, demonstrating the delegate’s commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

The 5-day CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a natural progression, offering advanced insights into site management.
